Making of 'God'

"Manush-e debota gore/ Tahar kripar pore/ Kore Deb-mohimaa nirvor//"
Translated - "Man-who builds the god / after his grace / does the god-glory depends"
-by Rabindranath Tagore

It is not the God, but the humans who are immortal. A person dies, but their art, decoration, music keeps them alive forever in the memories of others. We create Gods, worship them, and then give them a perfect farewell, made by our own rules. Is it the God who created us? Or we, who keep on creating Gods...??? Through this photo-story I wanted to convey that how people made their own rules and livings in the name of worshiping a God or Goddess, calling it "Durga Puja". It is soo old and deep rooted that many people live their life depending on this festival. Every year they wait for this time to arrive so that they can earn and feed their families. In Kolkata, Durga Puja is not just a festival, its a season of happiness and earning for many people.
